The December wipeout

11 Dec

It started in Wyatt’s fouth grade class.  I saw his teacher the Friday before the storm blew in, and she mentioned that five kids were out with fevers. Great, I thought, when will it hit us…Monday Wyatt was out with aches and a cough. Then it systematically took out Robert, Seth, and me. Ada has had a runny nose, but don’t think she had the whole mess.
Of course, this all comes in the week proceeding our long 13 hour flight home to the states. And if the flight isn’t cruel enough, the time change is grueling. And we have either made the best decision and will have a great time, by spending the first five days in NYC to sightsee. Or we will be trapped in a hotel room kicking ourselves, escaping to the nutcracker and train show at the botanical gardens.  At least we will be in the city that never sleeps when we aren’t sleeping;).
Only time will tell and I’ll be sure to do an update post.
