Seth and nian

3 Feb

Teaching the legend of Chinese New Year was done too well!  Poor Seth was a bit nervous before going to bed tonight on the eve of the new year. We set off fireworks, hung out lanterns, and special upside down characters for good luck on the doors.
He wanted to sleep with me all night;) Here are some of the firework pictures. We went pretty early to set ours off, but we weren’t the only ones. People we already in the street setting off their own displays to ward off nian. Bonfires and all on the corners…and just for safety most of the compounds had 10 or more extra fire extinguishers by the front entrance gates.
