Many times we have braved the subway from our villa to the city. It’s a tuk tuk ride to the station, then over an hour of multiple changes and rides and stops. Our driver can’t fathom why or how we do it, especially with sange haize (3 children). It was May holiday, Chinese labor day, so we either could sit at home or use public transportation. Of course, we headed out, the air was good, and the weather beautiful. We explored Beihai Park one day, and Chaoyang another. It was super crowded, but that’s pretty normal. We are going to be lonely when we return home!
